Our articles are not designed to replace medical advice. If you have an injury we recommend seeing a qualified health professional. To book an appointment with Tom Goom (AKA ‘The Running Physio’) visit our clinic page. We offer both in-person assessments and online consultations.

Our Signpost blogs are a short series of posts designed to highlight great new articles and resources for runners and health professionals. We’ve previously mentioned an excellent piece on back pain and today the focus is on knees!

This week Claire Robertson has launched a great website on patellofemoral pain (AKA Runner’s Knee);

Claire is a researcher and Consultant Physiotherapist with a special interest in patellofemoral pain. You can follow her on Twitter via @ClairePatella. Claire recently wrote about knee pain and crepitus for us and I recommend her blogs on activity modification and the role of education from her own site.

Claire is very much at the forefront of research in knee pain and will be providing regular updates from the Patellofemoral Pain Retreat in Manchester via her site and under the hashtag #PFR_clin. Keep an eye out for her study on VMO in knee pain which she’ll be discussing shortly via a webinar.
