Tendon pain can be quick to aggravate and slow to settle. The rehab programmes can be quite demanding and require consistency and time. It’s understandable then that patients often want a quicker solution or an alternative if their rehab isn’t producing the results they want.

In recent Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been offered as one such solution. The plasma fraction of the patient’s blood is injected into the tendon and is thought to promote tendon repair by introducing a high concentration of growth factors directly at the site of degeneration (Kearney et al. 2021).
